Roberto Mancini’s second spell as Italy coach got off to a winning start with a convincing 4-1 victory over Turkey. The Azzurri were ruthless in the first half, scoring three times before the 27th minute.

Alessandro Bastoni opened the scoring from a corner, Davide Frattesi tapped in a rebound and Michael Kayode added a third. Turkey pulled one back just after half-time through Barış Alper Yılmaz, but Francesco Pio Esposito quickly restored the three-goal cushion with a header.

Italy now have three points in Group A1 after their opening defeat. Turkey remain bottom with zero points. The result will give Mancini confidence heading into Friday’s clash with France.
